Ma Yanwei team in international development in 2008, the first root iron base superconducting wires, then in the physical chemistry of iron-based superconductor phase, element doping, line strip timber, heat treatment process, microstructure of in-depth study, master the use cost low powder loading in the preparation of high performance iron-based superconductor line strip of a set of key technologies, and strip the iron-based superconductor line of current-carrying performance has maintained the international leading level. In 2010, the first study of the iron base superconducting precursor powder sintering process, first lay the foundations for the current-carrying wire can significantly improve performance. On this basis, the team further explore iron-based superconductor wire scale preparation technology, through the study of superconducting structure design of a long and optimizing processing technology experiment, successfully solved the iron-based superconductor line scale preparation of the technical difficulties of uniformity, stability and repeatability, finally was the length of 115 meters long iron-based superconductor. Tested the current-carrying capacity showed good uniformity and attenuation characteristics of weak magnetic field in 10 winters up under the magnetic field of critical current density of more than 12000 ampere per square centimeter. Experts point out that the major breakthrough suggests that our country has already mastered the with independent intellectual property rights of iron-based superconductor long-term preparation technology, laid the iron-based superconductor materials in industrial, medical, defense, and many other fields of application.
